Our new R35 Rucksack Tow Float is a great dual-purpose piece of swim kit, it’s a functional and comfortable rucksack designed to carry your gear whilst walking/running to or between swims, and then when you are ready to swim it turns into your Hi-Vis safety drybag tow float simply by detaching the rucksack straps and attaching the waist strap.

The R35 Rucksack Tow Float is our latest dual-purpose piece of swim kit, it’s a functional and comfortable rucksack designed to carry your gear whilst walking/running to or between swims, and then when you are ready to swim it turns into your Hi-Vis drybag tow float simply by detaching the rucksack straps and attaching the waist strap.
Once at the shore unclip the rucksack straps and place them inside the bag along with any items you wish to store in your tow float. Seal the drybag and inflate the 2 air chambers using the valves. Place the adjustable waist belt around your waist and off you go for your swim.
Exceptional function and safety design
The R35 Rucksack tow float has excellent functional and safety design features including padded rucksack straps that rest on your shoulders, a safety whistle integrated into the buckle, and reflectors on the front rucksack straps and on the rear of the bag. When in swim mode the reflective puffin logo will be visible on the top of the float for extra safety in low-light conditions.
The two inflation valves are low profile and designed so that they do not rest on the wearer’s torso.
Our Rucksack Tow Float is made with Recycled PET plastic certified by the Global Recycled Standard (GRS) for sustainability.

The R35 Rucksack Tow Float was created by swim safety experts and swim hiking/running enthusiasts. It’s highly recommended to open water swimmers who are walking or running to their swim spots to carry gear and to those who wish to carry items with them whilst in the water, and of course to swimmers who want to be visible in the water to help keep them safer.
Instructions for use as Drybag Float:
Start with your Rucksack Tow Float deflated.
Unclip the rucksack straps and place them inside the bag.
Place your kit inside the bag and expel excess air.
Place valuables & electronic items in a waterproof bag prior to placing them in the dry bag.
Close the top flat and roll the top down a min 3 times before clipping the buckle together.
Inflate using the valves on each side.
To inflate open the top lid on valve and blow until fully inflated, close the lid.
Attach the leash to the bottom of the bag via the karabiner clip. Thread the waist belt through the loop on the other end of the leash.
Adjust the belt to fit the waist. Have a great swim.
To deflate pull open the bottom lid on the valve
For use as a Rucksack:
Use deflated.
ensure rucksack straps are clipped on securely.
Place leash and waist strap inside bag.
Can be used by all competent open-water swimmers.
This is not a lifesaving device.
Store in a dry place, and keep away from sharp objects. Enjoy your swim.
NB: We recommend placing electronic items inside a waterproof bag, such as the Waterproof phone pouch, before placing them inside the drybag. The Rucksack Tow Float is not a lifesaving device and is designed to be used by competent swimmers. Floats are not designed for continuous immersion.
